In February 2000, the Fiba Group acquired 50.7% shares of Banca de Credit Si Commercial SA as its first venture into Romania's banking industry. In 2007, renamed Credit Europe Bank (Romania) SA, the Bank's capitalization was raised and the Fiba Group's share was increased to 93.55%. Credit Europe Bank (Romania) SA offers the complete range of banking products and services to both corporate and retail customers through 118 service points in which 1.928 specialized personnel are employed. The Bank is currently seeking to become more active and taking bigger shares of Romania's foreign trade finance and retail banking markets.

Credit Europe Bank (Romania) SA sees its future in pursuing growth especially in the business of retail banking as that line of business continues to grow in Romania. To accomplish this, the Bank will be opening new branches and focusing on continuously improving the quality of its service while also offering new products.

In 2003 the Bank launched a highly successful consumer loan product together with retail chains to finance purchases of electrical home appliances that has attracted great interest in the country: to date,approximately 300,000 customers have taken advantage of this new product. Additionally, rapid-transfer through Western Union was launched among other retail banking products. More than 35,000 customers have already used this product. The Bank's first venture into the credit card market was with Visa. With the addition of MasterCard in 2005, the Bank expects to pursue even greater growth in the area of installment-based cards.By June 2009, The Bank is leader of Romanian credit card market with 330.000 card and 20% market share. The card, named as CardAvantage, is rewarded as the best credit card of Romania in 2003, 2007 and 2008.CEB Romania serves with wide alternative channels, 9.000 POS and 195 ATM, call center and web banking, to its customers with the objective of achieving coverage of the entire country.
