Anadolu Japan Turizm A.Ş. (Swissôtel the Bosphorus, İstanbul)
Anadolu Japan Turizm A.Ş. (AJT) invested in 1987 in a 5-star hotel, which is known as Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul. This was the first direct Japanese investment in Turkey. AJT rented a property covering a surface area of 84,965 sqm from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality for 43 years under the Built-Operate-Transfer (B-O-T) formula. In 1987, the Company also signed an operating agreement with, what was then called Swissair Nestle "Swissotel Ltd." for 20 years. On 24 April 2001, Raffles International Ltd. (RIL) -a Singapore registered company- acquired Swissotel Management AG. In 2005 Colony Capital -an American private equity firm- acquired RIL and merge it in 2006 with Kingdom Holding's ownership in Fairmont Hotels to create FRHI, a company based in Toronto, operating Hotels and Resorts worldwide under three different brads -Swissotel Hotels& Resorts, Raffles Hotels&Resorts and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Swissotel currently operates 30 Hotels and Resorts worldwide, and is represented in 16 countries.
Opened in 1991, Swissotel The Bosphours, Istanbul covers a surface area of 84.965 sqm and has 574 rooms and 63 serviced residential apartments. 245 of those are overlooking the Bosphorus. The Hotel operates various Restaurants and Bars with cuisines ranging from Turkish to International, continental gourmet cuisine, Swiss cuisine and Japanese and Chinese cuisine. A wide varity of meeting facilities, including Fuji Ballroom, with 1.100 sqm the biggest of its kind in Istanbul complete the offering.
In April 2005, Fiba Group purchased the shares of AJT.
The International Readers' Selection Awards, organized by Conde Nast Traveler magazine on annual basis ranked Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul as one of the "Best 75 Hotels in Europe" in 2005. Furthermore, Swissotel The Bosphours, Istanbul ranked as one of the "Best Hotels in the World" in the Gold List of Conde Nast Traveler in 2006.
Travel+Leisure, one of the best selling tourism magazines of the world, ranked Swissotel The Bosphours, Istanbul as one of the "Best 500 Hotels in the World" in 2007.
Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul was elected the 25th in the list of the "Best 100 Hotels in Europe" by the U.S. edition of Conde Nast Magazine 2008.
Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul is awarded 26th in the Top 50 European Hotels in 2008 by the Travel & Leisure Magazine.

In the approach to establish an overall quality management systems, Swissotel The Bosphorus has achieved the following audits successful: ISO 9000 (quality system), ISO 22000 (food safety and hygiene system). The following certification will be achieved in 2010: ISO 14000 (environmental system) and OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety System).
Swissotel The Bosphorus has been among the first hotels in Turkey awarded with the White Star by the Turkish Ministery of Tourism -an award recognizing the efforts in the field of environmental management within the hotel.
